Just who is behind D Moto? Shaun Sutcliffe
After working for a number of companies including Waggot Engineering, Gowanlochs and Team Kawasaki Australia, Shaun joined the Ducati Dealer Team in 1995. Working closely with many riders he was able to help Steve Martin and the team secure the 1999 Australian Superbike Championship. When the team disbanded Shaun continued to work as Steve's race mechanic whilst also developing his role as head technician at NF Importers, the importers of Ducati Australia. In his position at NFI Shaun was
not
only the tech other techs referred to when they had a Ducati problem
but was also responsible for training Ducati mechanics in Australia
and New Zealand. Obviously during this time he had a close
relationship with the factory and attended many factory courses from
1998 to 2009. Shaun left NFI in early 2010 to set up D Moto. He continues to support Ducati racing in Australia and for the past 8 years has offered close technical help to Craig McMartin. Personally?.........reserved, honest (blunt?) and with a strong ethic of always providing the best.
George Tamine
George originally trained as a panel beater but his eagerness for working with motorcycles lead him into becoming a licenced motorcycle mechanic. He did this while working for Gowanloch Engineering where he developed his passion for Ducati motorcycles and his great knowledge about bevels. After many years at Gowanloch's he moved to NFI where he extended his extensive working knowledge to include the belt drive models from Ducati. An opportunity to move to the USA to work as a race mechanic in the AMA Championship arose and George happily took it. Following his return to Australia he again worked for Frasers before he moved to Flywheel Motorcycles where he stayed until his move to set up D Moto in early 2010. For many years, George has also been closely involved with supporting Craig McMartin at race meetings. As one of the few, George has also had the fortune of
attending many Ducati Factory training courses. D Moto - Technical skill and personal service for Ducati (and the rest of the bike alphabet) |
